Additional Improvements & Upgrades
All existing bunkers have been rebuilt with proper drainage and are framed with zoysia grass.
All greens have been rebuilt to USGA specifications to insure tour quality putting surfaces. A blend of A-1 and A-4 creeping bent grass was chosen for the grass on the greens.
All 18 fringes have been sown with Zorro zoysia grass. This variety impedes the invasion of Bermuda and other unwanted grasses onto the putting greens. Zoysia also makes an excellent chipping surface.
A new Toro E-Osmac dual-line irrigation system has been installed. It includes wireless controls from a central computer in the new maintenance facility. With over 475 sprinkler heads, this new system provides irrigation cover for the entire course. All tees and fairways have been sodded or sprigged with 419 Bermuda grass, a thin-blade hybrid grass that offers excellent coverage and outstanding playability.
Practice Facilities
Before heading out to the course take advantage of our highly equipped practice facilities. At Pine Island we offer a 8,000 square foot putting green, an expansive turf hitting area, short game practice area (featuring chipping green and practice bunker) and a Wedge Wrx pitching game. In addition all practice range balls are included with any golf membership.
